My journey has never been linear, easy, or pretty — but it has been real.
I began receiving illegal butt injections in the early 2000s, during my junior year of college, at a time when I was young, navigating adulthood, and immersed in environments where my body felt like currency. Like many women, I didn't fully understand what was being injected into my body — or the long-term consequences. What I believed was enhancement slowly became inflammation. What I believed was control eventually became damage.
By the time social media platforms like Instagram emerged, I had already been living with illegal injections for many years. As my platform grew, so did the questions, assumptions, and pressure to perform a certain image. I could have stayed silent. Many people do. But I knew my story mattered. Especially because other women were chasing a body without understanding the risks behind it.
The first signs of complications appeared years later. Subtle at first, then impossible to ignore. By 2020, during the height of COVID, my body forced me to make a decision I had been postponing out of fear: to begin the process of removing illegal injections.
What followed was something no one prepares you for.
I underwent 10 surgeries solely for removal, followed by multiple reconstructions, more than 12 surgeries in total. The removal did what it was meant to do, but it also took more than just the injected material. Much of my healthy tissue was removed as well. My body was dramatically different than I ever imagined it would be. Emotionally, that was difficult — but I was grateful. I was alive. I was healing. And I still had hope.
Healing was not just physical. It was emotional, mental, and deeply spiritual. There were complications, setbacks, financial strain, fear, grief, and moments of isolation where I had to sit with everything I was experiencing on my own.
That hope led me to Colombia. There, my reconstructive surgeon performed flap reconstruction surgery — a complex procedure that rebuilt and reshaped the remaining tissue to restore structure and contour. Rather than simply removing damage, he reconstructed what remained — giving me a healthier, intentional foundation.
My body was different. Smaller. Real. And for the first time in a long time, safe.
The biggest transformation wasn't my body. It was my mind. Today I help women navigate the emotional, physical, and personal side of reinvention through education, guidance, community, and honest conversations.
